RNK SHOW PIGS began over 40 years ago with a single Hampshire gilt. Rodney (the "R" in RNK), then a 10 year old boy, purchased the feeder gilt from a neighbor for $5.00. He proceeded to feed her, breed her, and develop an everlasting love of hog farming. Over the next 40 years, Rodney and his wife, Kim (that's right, the "K" in RNK), always had anywhere from just a few sows to as many as 50. However, no matter how many sows were on the farm, the goal was always the same; to produce top quality hogs that grew fast.
Having built a quality sow herd, Rod, Kim and their son, Nick (admit it, you were wondering where the "N" came from), decided to concentrate on the always challenging show pig market. So, the new goal on the farm became to create hogs that not only grew fast but looked really good doing it. After several purchases from quality producers like Parrish
Farms, John Graber, Isla Grande, Kilmer Swine, and Steve Cobb, as well as utilizing the services of some of the leading boar studs, we are finally ready to showoff the fruits of our labor.
RNK showpigs is located in Jonesville, Michigan. We currently manage a 20 sow herd,
consisting of purebred Hampshires, Yorkshires, Crossbreds, and even a few Herefords. Thank you to everyone who has helped make RNK possible, and we hope to continue building lasting relationships with our peers and customers.
